i don't know that i can type this out without sobbing. geez, Emma Louise, how in the world are you ONE? what a fun little girl you are!! you crack us up constantly!

you still aren't saying much. every animal sounds like 'bhrrr' but you do have a little different sound for your big sister. (you now say "yah-yah" for her but you weren't doing this a month ago.)

oh, how i love these hands. sweet and beautiful hands.

we have yet to cut your hair….

…but your daddy says it's immanent.

you are a hard-sell a lot of the time but when you do get tickled, it's the best thing in the world.

guess who can make you laugh the hardest? yep, it's sister!

you really didn't want to take any of these pics but you
did let me take a few.

have i told you about your adventures in the potty? why in the world is that your favorite thing? it's so gross, honey-do.

you love-love-love to push things around. O's little einstein rocket, your little wooden chairs, a plastic plate. anything that will scoot on the tile, you push.

have i mentioned you're walking? anywhere and everywhere. i forgot how insanely precious it is to see a baby girl walk for the first time. arms up and elbows pointing to the sky. drunk baby walking. best thing ever.

how is your hair so silky? that
must be from your daddy's side of the family. so pretty!

when your hair is in your face, which is all the time, you have to look up at us to see. it's soooo funny! we will have to get it cut soon because i'm afraid it's going to impair your vision.

"love you, glow worm!!" this toy always makes you stop crying.

i think we took a 15 minute break in between these pics and the ones before. you were not having it.

we have a 'fridge farm' and a 'fridge abc' toy and you will walk by and slap every magnetic piece off of the refrigerator and run. we literally pic them up five times a day.

you have to be the most amazing one year old in the whole wide world. seriously.

um, yes, you are precious.

i love this look. love, love, love it.

i have a feeling we're about done.

before we wrap this up, let's talk about your eating habits. you HATE real milk. we've tried everything. whole milk, watered-down whole milk, soy milk, watered-down soy milk, both milks watered down with stawberry or chocolate. you gag and refuse to drink any more than just a sip.

your pediatrician isn't worried at all but, of course, i'm freaking out. i want you drink for more than one reason, so in the meantime, we're filling you up with cheese and yogurt. you seem very content with that.

you can eat a whole banana in less than five minutes and you will literally eat anything we put in front of you. it's pretty incredible.

your temper has reared its ugly head and watching you throw a fit is just really funny. sorry, but when you throw yourself on the floor, we can't help but laugh.

you definitely know what you want and you definitely know how to show it!

i have to say, you've been great at humoring me with these pictures and i can't blame you for being d.o.n.e. with them. i have so loved seeing the changes in you and documenting the amazing things that are happening in your life. our lives. our family of four.
we knew we wanted you before you were you. we just didn't have a clue how much we wanted you or how much we would love you. you absolutely complete our family and we are so incredibly lucky that you are ours.
i love you more than the sky, sweet emma, and i will spend the rest of my life showing you just how big that sky is.
