snow days - day 4 = hospital

i didn't know if i wanted pictures from february 4-6 or not. i told S to grab my camera and some clean undies as we were transported to have E's iv put in. it was, by far, the scariest day of my life. after talking to our sweet doctor and having her listen to E's chest for what seemed to be an hour, we found ourselves in the same place where E was born just a few months earlier. it was strange. the sounds were the same. the smell was the same. i kept having flashbacks from her birthday and i couldn't help but sob. again. O was freaking-outstanding through all of this. thankfully, her school was open on this friday so she missed the second doctors visit and being admitted. and, thankfully, aunt bunnie was able to come up and give us and O some lovins. hands down the best aunt ever.
i called my parents from the doctor's office and told them to be safe but to please hurry. i couldn't have my baby in the hospital without my mom being there. it took them almost six hours because of the sheet of ice on i-40...praise god they got there safe!
sweet daddy didn't quite know what to do. he's a super-calm guy 95% of the time. here he is in that 5% range that he hates. when S cries, it's bad.
we didn't even think to bring toys for E. my boss was so sweet and brought her a care bear - she looooved it! she played so hard with it, she passed out! thanks, chris!
things are looking up here. again, praise god!
with O safely at home with my parents, S and i decided to treat ourselves. we might be the only people to have sushi take out in a hospital room, but dang it, we wanted something good. speaking of good, doesn't she look good?
we got the all-clear after our second night and we're headed home! i truthfully wanted to stay another night just to be safe but everyone around said we were fine. gun shy.

E's rsv was tricky with her being so young. she would have a good day, then a bad day. it was scary and confusing. we are so thankful to have amazing friends and doctors in our lives! with all of the same sounds and smells, it was weird to come home without a newborn baby. i'm happy to say i'm happy about that and i'm even more happy to come home with a healthy EMMA!!! and, as scary as it was, i'm glad i have these pictures.

Oh Liz. I can't imagine how crazy that was having your sweet baby in the hospital. I'm so thankful that all of you are safe and sound at home.
