seaside, florida - day 3

we started day 3 with homemade funnel cakes that dad made. he used to make these for me all the time. i had slumber parties with these for breakfast! as you can see, the girls triple-hearted them! O sharing her powdered sugar.
watch out, girl! E's teeth are coming in!
she made a happy plate!
and she made a happy mess. but loved it all the way!
ugh. stairs. just when we'd get the darn baby gate up, she was on to something else.
cute pics of O and papa ray looking for shells.

we tried the beach with E again and it was actually more of a success. not 100% but way better than our first attempt.

gran and papa were on E duty while S and i played with O.
we kept waiting for that 'money' shell but we only really found little ones. O didn't care though!
see?

drawing a line with her toes.
S wrote her name in the sand and she doctored it up.
she made triangles in three different places. good, huh?

yay, E is awake!!! let's try this again!
hmm…..
oh great! what to do??
sorry for the paste-y legs but i thought that she would like the water better than the sand.
not really.

did i mention the ocean was FULL of seaweed? ugh, it was yuck but obviously bearable giving the setting.
so far, so good.

this is not an unhappy face but she's not exactly beaming either.
touching the sand. not screaming.
a hand-full... that's good.
yay! yay! yay emma!!!
pretty sure she's giving the waves a piece of her mind. if they got close, she cried.
aaaaaand, she's off! i'm so excited!

"yeah, be excited all you want. get this stuff off of my hands!!!"
big sis was really excited that she was having fun. dead sprint down the beach to her ems.
i wish they would have played for hours!
i mean, seriously?!?! so cute!
now for our attempt at family pics. i have about a hundred of these and i picked the ones that made me laugh! feel free to, too!!

soooo tired of smiling!
almost!
i wanted to take the girls down to the beach for more pics.

neither of them cooperated. actually, that's not true. O cooperated. E didn't. this was a first.
seriously? is the grass that interesting?
oh well. because we didn't want to break tradition, we headed for ice cream. O picked out mint chocolate chip and sprinkles this time.

well, hello there…..

"daddy, i see something. look what i found!"
i think this dog is a usual in seaside and i've forgotten her name. i'm still shocked that O wasn't terrified of her.
another first for O! she looooves dogs until they get close. we didn't even bribe her to pet the dog that weighed more than her!

off to the amphitheater for some running and eating grass.
i opted to sit with E.

i'd like to say this was my idea but it wasn't. sweet little moments!!

and that's it for day 3. our time is half-way over and i'm already sad!!!!
