so a dream came true on this day. not really for O but for me. i have been dreaming of the day that i actually get to take O to see the nutcracker. we've been reading the book for weeks and O really seemed excited to go. erin has been doing the same with A so the hype between the four of us was pretty intense! we talked about how it was only music and ballet dancers. no talking. a hard concept for three year olds. but, we figured, we have smart girls, so why not?!?
here we are before leaving. we were so excited!!!
we wanted to do something really fancy since we were going to the ballet. we decided to take them for cupcakes on campus corner. little did we know, crimson & whipped cream is closed on sundays….
so, we settled for starbucks and the girls chose pumpkin scones. still fancy, right? and, the mommies got some much needed caffeine. everyone wins in this group!
the girls were being sooo silly!
there is a statue of a beautiful ballet dancer on campus so we stopped here first for some cute photos. the girls looooved seeing this and more so, they loved making a wish.
O probably asked for an airplane (currently on her christmas list) and A probably asked for another princess dress!
i just love this one of their sweet reflections in the water.
i mean really! aren't they the cutest?!?!?!
here they are doing their best posse, aka flamingo. they had to hold hands to do it and they couldn't do it at the same time! it was hilarious!!
waiting patiently...
…with iphones.
erin took them over to see the orchestra. just for a second though. at one point O was weaving her fingers in erin's hands saying 'ok, i'm ready to go back to my mommy'. so cute!
when it was over THEY GOT TO MEET CLARA!! they were starstruck! clara (13 years old) did an amazing job. she was just so elegant and so professional. O went right up and hugged her! so sweet! we were thrilled that the girls were enamored by her! that's the reaction we were going for.
and they met two snowflake princesses! they were both so beautiful and the girls were just giving hugs all around.
it was truly a magical afternoon. i just wish i knew what the girls were thinking. i know erin and i were ecstatic. we laughed, we teared up, we were sweaty. did i mention that the girls sat on our laps? they couldn't see otherwise and they also needed protection from the mean mouse king. it was everything i wished it to be and i can only hope that O remembers this for the rest of her life.
thank you hofmann girls for sharing this experience with us. we can't wait for our ballet date next christmas!!

Such a special moment for all of your girls! Those two cuties are the sweetest little friends!
I love that your girls are such sweet friends! We always went to see the Nutcracker when I was little with family friends, and they are wonderful memories that we still talk about today.
best. day. ever.
So fun! I can't wait to take my girls to the Nutcracker in San Fran. I am going to wait a few more years, though!
