merry christmas eve!! we have a super busy day ahead of us so we started off with baths because i knew the girls (and me too) would be spent at the end of the day.
here is O with her old bee-ba. she has no clue that santa will bring her a new one in the morning. did she love her replacement? wait and see!
E is a climber. always.
she has no clue what's about to happen. not a single one.
the walkers came on saturday morning for a yummy lunch. i think O only ate pie.
that's cool because she ate with her great meme.
aunt paula got to read to E. a lot!! wanna win E's heart? read her a book!
we started opening gifts and O said "no, i need to go over here and eat my broccoli". WHAT?? we all about died! she's hilarious i tell ya!
aaaand, now she's ready!
sweet sisters drawing together!
dad is the king of free samples. along with his gift to his little brother, he got him a LOT of cologne samples. my dad is sooo funny and now uncle larry smells yum-o!
remember how O has been stellar at (not) posing for pictures? here we are again with E and great meme...these first three are actually pretty great.
then O gets super-silly! check out great meme's face!!
oooo, lord have mercy!
shortly after the walkers left, it was time to get ready for christmas eve service. i was SO excited to take the girls. O has been obsessed with christmas and baby jesus and i thought it would be so special for her!!
when we got to church, it was a mini reunion. i haven't been to my home town church in years. it was kinda hard for me to not cry by just being there. O did pretty good other than the fact that she insisted on using her inside-voice the whole time. she even took communion. she's only 3.5 but i didn't really care. i was in MY church and she was going to do what i wanted her to do. she may have taken the body of christ and none of the blood of christ but it was alright. i know my god understood.
sweet E spent most of the service downstairs with her daddy. she did not get it. she wanted to run all over the place so he took her to a place where she could. i hated that our family of four wasn't there together but i was really excited to spend such a special service with my biggest bit.
after we (all four) sang 'silent night' by candlelight, we headed home to celebrate with the dodds! i love these kiddos!! my birthday twin, wyatt, on the left is about 5 feet taller than me. not really but he's super-tall! ethan is precious and cousin timmy is just a mess!! we were SO close when we were little - we even had the same haircut!
uncle steve's first born. precious ryan!
aunt bev, uncle mike, uncle steve, aunt michelle, cousin mikey - what a great bunch!
believe me when i say - I'M SO PROUD OF OUR FAMILY FOR TAKING SUCH AN AMAZING FAMILY PHOTO!! i mean, to get this many people to smile/look at the camera at the same time is just a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!
time for presents!!!!!!!!!!!
sweet, sweet, SWEET ellie! this kiddo has my heart!
i'd be lying if i said we did these last few things together. not ALL blogs are wine and roses, people. this 'spreading of the reindeer food' was more like "holy &*#$ we forgot to put out the reindeer food!!"
it was way after 11pm when i remembered and although O had literally just fallen asleep, i was NOT waking her up. i promise to be better next year!
santa loot!!
new bee-ba for O and a new lovie for E.
books and books galore. new spaghetti eddie cd and dvd, too!
that darn purple pillow pet that O put on every christmas list!!!
O really thought santa would love the trees that she and E made.
and look what santa wrote!! and even on his personal letterhead! (wink, wink!)
such a fun morning to come!!!
on dasher! on dancer! on prancer! and vixen!!!!
