happy heart

since i didn't share this with many of you when i was pregnant with MO, this might come as a shock. if it does, i'm sorry and honestly, there is NOTHING to worry about but i have to share this news.

MO's sweet heartbeat was a little slower than normal when she was in my belly. a normal in-utero heart beats about 120-160 per minute - hers was 110. we found this out when i was 17 weeks pregnant and we saw a specialist in OKC every two weeks until she was born at 38 weeks. we were so upset when we heard the initial news but our fears were quickly put to rest at our first appointment.

her aortic arch is a little distended at the top. in layman's terms = the hook of her 'candy cane' is a little bigger than the stick. in medical terms = she had mild bradycardia. again, NOTHING to worry about. the amazing perinatologist was fantastic, as was/is the pediatric cardiologist that stopped in to look at her before she was born. the cardiologist told us that our current pediatrician had actually interned with him so that's why we chose her. we have never been more pleased. she made sure MO had a complete EKG immediately after she was born and she sent the results directly to the cardiologist. they're buds like that!

we took MO to the cardiologist when she was 2 months old , 8 months old, and again last week. he wants to see her in 1.5 years! her EKG was perfect!!
here are my monkey's playing on SS's iPhone.

we're so thrilled that MO has a 'happy heart'.
