paintings for emma

i thought that since we were busy working on things for emma's room, that olivia would want to help, too. i bought two canvases and painted them pink then i grabbed a few coordinating colors for olivia to paint with. we had the best time!! i don't know who had more fun! this girl loves to paint and she really seemed excited to be doing something for her little sister.

here we are getting started. her palette.
she was so funny and started each canvas on the bottom right corner. i don't know what that means, if anything, but it was fun to watch her make her first moves.
she found her way back to the corner on this one but she sure did load up on paint this time!!
she's really focused now!
starting the second canvas. see, bottom right corner again! she has been looking so much older these days but she looks younger here. oh, how i love this girl!
singing and painting the afternoon away!
i had to keep reminding her that she could paint on the whole thing, not just the corners.
ah, yes! top left, here we come!!
oh, these little fingers...
yes, make sure you get the sides, too!!
she got crazy and made a little loop-see-doo on the right of the canvas. so cute!
prettiest mess she's ever made!
she thought her elbow needed a little color!

she painted her sweet belly, too!!
then, when i thought they were just perfect, i let her use the rest of the paint on some craft paper. next? bath time!!
and now for the finished products!! here is the first one she painted.
and here is the second one. so different and so perfect!
two perfectly painted canvases for her baby sister emma.
i realize that i haven't posted pics of emma's room. i'm actually still working on a few things so i hope to soon. i could really care less about everything else now that these are hung. they are so precious to me.

What a great idea! Miss Emma will love them when she is old enough to know that her big sister did something for her before she was born. Thinking of you all and sending prayers your way!

You all are just way too cute - Olivia's cuteness, and your writing! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.
