yes, my friends, this is the day where my sweet, sweet emma turned one! her real birthday fell on a thursday so our day continued like normal. she did have a few extra pancakes to commemorate her day but then it was off to school!
after her nap, S and i headed to her classroom to officially party with her friends. have i mentioned that she's the cutest one in her class?
she's such a funny kid. she was happy we were there but she really wanted her snack. salt before sugar!
gettin' ready to pounce...
well, i mean, beg...
she totally has these women snowed.
eating right out of their hands. literally!
cutie-pie legs sticking out of the table!
each kiddo has a cupcake with their birthday.
so tell me child, what is in your hair today? pics of her first haircut are coming soon!
she's not a fan of anything on her head but she actually left this on while we sang 'happy birthday' to her.
"really, lady? what is this on my head?" funny!!
here are all her friends that day. reilly was on the other side of the table because he's not old enough to eat 'big kid' things quite yet.
S was so cute with her and all of her friends.
i love that miss september!
so. flippin'. excited. aren't her legs the best?!?
S was quite the baby whisperer. all the kiddos wanted in his lap. he didn't exactly feel the same way...
it was great to see her play with her friends. she does like to take things away from them and i'll give you one guess who she learned that from!
sweet birthday girl!!
i had this shirt made to match the awesomely-wonderful hat and bib that my 'friend' in california made for her. she also made O's first birthday hat and bib so i was thrilled when i learned on facebook that she's still in business.
pretty awesome hat, huh? wait'll you see the bib at her party!
she was very much not into having her picture taken. i made the mistake of taking her outside. she won't sit still. she looooooves to be outside. more than anything in the whole world.
i got a few quirky smiles, which is good, because we get those a lot.
i feel like her eyes might turn out to be green like mine. O insists they'll be blue. like hers and daddy's.
here we are after O's dance class. we told O that we could party for Ems when we got home but if you've seen her first night at ballet, you know that didn't go over. at all.
way confused. way ticked to have something on her head.
first bite? love!!
we told O that because of her performance at dance, she could NOT have any cupcake. she seemed okay with that.
E didn't really want to share anyway.
but, then she decided she wanted to! O said, "but momma, she wants me to have some". what's a girl to do?!
what in the world have we gotten ourselves into??
you had a good birthday, did you, E? it's obvious you love sugar and we so can't wait until your party!!!
we simply love you more than the sky, sweet girl, and we hope all your wishes come true!!
