our thankful tree

if you're on pinterest, you've seen these.  it's a way to help your kiddos understand what it means to be thankful.  it serves as a reminder for us parents, too.  one morning before O's dentist appointment, we talked about things we're thankful for.  over hot chocolate and donuts, i tried my best to describe what 'thankful' means.  she mostly got the gist. we do have a few things on the tree that she randomly saw in starbucks like, highchairs and purses.
i took all of her thankful ideas and typed them up to hang on the tree.
we used the curly willow from E's party and it worked out great.  O was not in the mood to help me, but E was!

funny that she picked this one first.  she is SO thankful for her lovie, even though she doesn't know it!

ok, O is ready now!  she was such a big help for the tall branches!

we talked again about what it means to be thankful and i think she's got it!

she's thankful for her 'bee-ba'.  that's her blanket.  don't ask me how she got bee-ba but it'll always be that!

yes, i'm that mom who let's her girls stand on the table.  so thankful they didn't fall off!

i'm thankful for your name too, bug!
starbucks, family, hair...

purses, clocks, coconuts...

i'm thankful for starbucks dates with my girl!!!
i'm thankful for this, too.  O loves her 'music and math' class.
play doh, the letter "V"...
windows and blinds, donuts...
at one point she said "olivia.  write it down".  ok, got it!  hilarious!!
dance parties...they just had one at school.  this girl does love to dance!
we're all so thankful for so many things this thanksgiving.  most of all, we're thankful to have each other!
wishing you all a very happy thanksgiving!

Love it. You're tree turned out great! I so wanted to do this with Lucy, but completely ran out of time. Love that I got to see yours to give me ideas for next year!
